Gripe aviária é confirmada em galinhas-d’Angola no BioParque do Rio

Exames realizados pelo Laboratório Federal de Defesa Agropecuária, vinculado ao Ministério da Agricultura e Pecuária, confirmaram a presença do vírus da Influenza Aviária (H5N1) nas quatro galinhas-d’Angola que morreram no BioParque do Rio de Janeiro na última semana.

A confirmação foi divulgada na tarde desta terça-feira (22). Em nota, o BioParque informou que a Superintendência de Defesa Agropecuária do Estado do Rio de Janeiro já adotou todas as medidas sanitárias recomendadas para conter e prevenir a disseminação do vírus.

A área da savana, onde as aves foram encontradas, permanecerá isolada e em quarentena por mais 14 dias. As demais áreas do parque têm reabertura prevista para quinta-feira (24).

De acordo com o parque, 15 funcionários que tiveram contato direto com as aves estão sendo monitorados pela Secretaria de Estado de Saúde. A transmissão da cepa H5N1 para seres humanos é considerada rara. No entanto, caso algum dos monitorados apresente sintomas respiratórios durante o período de observação, será aberto um protocolo de caso suspeito e a pessoa deverá permanecer em isolamento domiciliar.
