Incêndio destrói escola na Tijuca e deixa 120 alunos sem aulas

Um incêndio destruiu a Escola Municipal Leitão Cunha, localizada na Tijuca, Zona Norte do Rio de Janeiro, na madrugada desta quinta-feira (15). De acordo com o Corpo de Bombeiros, as chamas começaram por volta das 3h45 em salas de aula da unidade, que atende alunos de 5 a 12 anos. Ninguém ficou ferido.

Equipes de três quartéis foram mobilizadas por volta das 4h e, até a última atualização desta reportagem, os bombeiros ainda trabalhavam no combate às chamas.

Segundo informações da Prefeitura do Rio, o incêndio atingiu cinco das seis salas de aula e a secretaria da escola. A Defesa Civil Municipal interditou o imóvel após constatar rachaduras na estrutura. Apesar dos danos, não há risco para os prédios e casas vizinhos.

Nesta quinta-feira, as aulas para os 120 estudantes, com idades entre 5 e 12 anos, foram suspensas. A partir da próxima segunda-feira (19), os alunos serão transferidos para a Escola Municipal Orsina da Fonseca, também localizada na Tijuca.

As causas do incêndio ainda estão sob investigação. A Secretaria Municipal de Educação informou que o prédio passou recentemente por reformas e seria transformado em um Ginásio Educacional Tecnológico (GET).
