Tiroteio na Avenida Brasil coloca Rio em estágio de alerta e impacta trânsito

A cidade do Rio de Janeiro entrou em estágio de alerta 2 após intensos tiroteios na Avenida Brasil, na manhã desta quinta-feira, 24 uma das principais vias expressas da capital. A alteração no status ocorreu às 8h35, conforme comunicado pela prefeitura, que destacou os sérios impactos no fluxo de veículos na região.

De acordo com o Centro de Operações Rio (COR), os confrontos entre criminosos e a Polícia Militar resultaram em bloqueios e em cenas de pânico entre motoristas e passageiros. Muitos, assustados com os disparos, buscaram refúgio atrás das muretas da avenida, enquanto o tráfego ficou severamente comprometido.

Para dificultar a chegada das forças de segurança, os criminosos atearam fogo em diversos veículos e montaram barricadas em pontos estratégicos da via, agravando ainda mais a situação. Em resposta, o COR recomendou que a população evitasse a Avenida Brasil e optasse por utilizar a Linha Vermelha como rota alternativa.

O estágio 2 de alerta é decretado quando há impacto relevante no funcionamento da cidade, especialmente no que diz respeito à mobilidade urbana. O cenário permanece em constante monitoramento pelas autoridades, que buscam restabelecer a segurança e a normalidade no tráfego da região.

Segundo a PM, os agentes enfrentavam forte resistência dos criminosos e avaliava a possibilidade de interromper a ação.

“No início da manhã, quando iniciou a operação, as tropas enfrentaram forte resistência dos criminosos e dificuldade de avanço no terreno por causa das valas que eles cavam para impedir o avanço das forças policiais. Há relatos de que criminosos, na tentativa de fugir, saíram atirando e por isso houve a necessidade de interrupção do fluxo da Avenida Brasil e dos ramais da Supervia”, disse Cláudia Moraes.
