PF investiga fraude biométrica na Baixada Fluminense

A Polícia Federal deflagrou, na manhã desta quarta-feira (8), a Operação Biometria Fake, com o objetivo de desarticular um grupo suspeito de cometer fraudes bancárias contra a Caixa Econômica Federal (CEF). A investigação apura a atuação de uma associação criminosa sediada na Baixada Fluminense, especializada em cadastros biométricos falsos.

De acordo com a PF, o grupo também estaria envolvido em outros crimes, como furto mediante fraude, falsificação de documentos públicos e estelionato. Uma das investigadas já possui condenações anteriores por organização criminosa e estelionato.

Durante a operação, agentes cumpriram dois mandados de busca e apreensão em residências localizadas em Duque de Caxias. Foram apreendidos um telefone celular, um cartão bancário em nome de outra pessoa e diversos documentos, que serão encaminhados para perícia técnica.

As investigadas poderão responder pelos crimes de associação criminosa, estelionato, furto mediante fraude e falsificação de documentos públicos. A ação integra a Operação Virtude, iniciativa nacional de combate a crimes e violência contra a população idosa, desenvolvida ao longo do mês de outubro.
