O deputado federal Chiquinho Brazão, o atual conselheiro do Tribunal de Contas do Rio Domingos Brazão e o ex-chefe de Polícia Civil, Rivaldo Barbosa, foram detidos sob suspeita de serem os mandantes do assassinato da vereadora Marielle Franco e de seu motorista, Anderson Gomes. Eles chegaram à Superintendência da Polícia Federal (PF) no Rio de Janeiro na manhã deste domingo (24).
Os investigadores da PF trouxeram malotes para o prédio, conduzindo os suspeitos em um veículo da Polícia Federal e em uma viatura da Polícia Civil, possivelmente do Instituto Médico Legal do Rio de Janeiro (IMLAP).
Veículos transportando materiais apreendidos também já chegaram à sede da polícia. Além dos três mandados de prisão, a PF também está cumprindo 12 mandados de busca e apreensão, todos no Rio de Janeiro.
A ação foi autorizada pelo ministro Alexandre de Moraes, do Supremo Tribunal Federal (STF), e é denominada Operação Murder Inc., envolvendo a Polícia Federal, a Procuradoria Geral da República (PGR) e o Ministério Público do Rio de Janeiro (MPRJ).
A investigação considera o caso Marielle como uma execução devido ao trabalho político desempenhado pela parlamentar. O motorista Anderson Gomes também perdeu a vida no episódio, que ocorreu em março de 2018.
