Polícia ambiental apreende pássaros silvestres mantidos em cativeiro em São Gonçalo

Agentes da 6ª Unidade de Polícia Ambiental (UPAM) realizaram uma operação nesta segunda-feira (23) que resultou na apreensão de diversos pássaros silvestres mantidos em cativeiro. A ação ocorreu na Rua Itaguaí, no bairro Trindade, em São Gonçalo.

Durante a operação, um homem de 35 anos foi detido e levado para a 74ª Delegacia de Polícia (Alcântara). Ele se identificou como proprietário dos animais, mas não possuía as licenças ambientais necessárias para a criação dos pássaros. Entre as espécies apreendidas, estavam sete coleiros, seis tizius, quatro canários-da-terra, dois trinca-ferros e três biquinhos-de-lacre.

A criação de animais silvestres sem autorização é considerada crime ambiental e pode resultar em sanções administrativas e penais, além de multas. O caso segue sendo investigado pelas autoridades locais.

A Polícia Ambiental reforça a importância da preservação da fauna nativa e alerta sobre a necessidade de denúncia em casos de manutenção irregular de animais silvestres.
