Procuradores de Saquarema são denunciados por desvio de R$ 116 mil de verba pública

O Grupo de Atuação Especializada de Combate ao Crime Organizado do Ministério Público do Estado do Rio de Janeiro (GAECO/MPRJ) denunciou à Justiça os procuradores do Município de Saquarema Antônio Francisco Alves Neto e Claudius Valerius Malheiros Barcellos. Ambos são acusados de peculato-desvio e falsidade ideológica, crimes relacionados ao desvio de R$ 116.043,92 dos cofres públicos entre janeiro de 2021 e dezembro de 2022.

Segundo as investigações, Antônio Francisco teria recebido pagamentos de horas extras fictícias, mesmo sem prestar os serviços. O esquema foi facilitado pelo então procurador-geral do município, Claudius Valerius, que assinava e autorizava os documentos falsificados. O Ministério Público aponta que Antônio Francisco foi o único servidor da Procuradoria a receber horas extras durante o período investigado.

A denúncia ainda revela que Antônio Francisco é cunhado da prefeita de Saquarema, Manoela Peres. Ele teve sua nomeação como procurador-geral do município cassada pelo Supremo Tribunal Federal (STF) em 2019, após a constatação de nepotismo cruzado.

Documentos públicos e contracheques analisados pelo GAECO/MPRJ comprovaram que Antônio Francisco recebeu o equivalente a 623 horas extras não trabalhadas, causando prejuízo superior a R$ 116 mil ao município.

O caso tramita na 2ª Vara da Comarca de Saquarema e é fruto de um Procedimento Investigatório Criminal (PIC) conduzido pelo GAECO/MPRJ, que busca responsabilizar os envolvidos e ressarcir os cofres públicos.
