Rio registra maior temperatura do ano com 39,9°C e aumento nos casos de incêndios florestais

O Rio de Janeiro registrou a maior temperatura de 2024 nesta quarta-feira (2), alcançando 39,9°C às 13h00 na estação meteorológica da Vila Militar, localizada na Zona Oeste da cidade. Os dados foram divulgados pela Climatempo, com base em informações do Instituto Nacional de Meteorologia (INMET). O valor superou o recorde anterior do ano, de 39,5°C, marcado nos meses anteriores. Em setembro, a cidade já havia registrado a maior temperatura do inverno, com 38,8°C, também na Vila Militar.

A previsão indica que outras capitais nas regiões Sudeste e Centro-Oeste podem registrar novos recordes de calor nos próximos dias, seguindo a tendência de altas temperaturas que afetam essas áreas do Brasil.

Além do calor extremo, o estado do Rio de Janeiro enfrenta um aumento alarmante nos casos de incêndios florestais. Em 2024, o número de ocorrências subiu 85% em comparação ao mesmo período do ano passado, com 6.178 novos focos, conforme dados do Corpo de Bombeiros. Entre os municípios mais afetados estão Rio de Janeiro, São Gonçalo, Duque de Caxias, Maricá, Nova Iguaçu, Niterói, Araruama, Nova Friburgo, Campos dos Goytacazes e Volta Redonda.

O aumento no número de incêndios e as temperaturas extremas têm preocupado as autoridades, que alertam para os riscos à saúde e ao meio ambiente, especialmente em áreas urbanas e florestais.
