Na manhã desta quarta-feira (20), feriado, um ônibus tombou na Avenida Alfredo Backer, em Alcântara, próximo ao número 212, deixando sete mulheres feridas. O Corpo de Bombeiros dos quartéis de São Gonçalo e Colubandê foi acionado às 7h38 para atender a ocorrência.
Cinco vítimas tiveram ferimentos leves, enquanto outras duas apresentaram lesões moderadas. Elas foram encaminhadas ao Hospital Alberto Torres, no Colubandê, em São Gonçalo. Até o momento, não há informações atualizadas sobre o estado de saúde delas.
O acidente envolveu dois ônibus: um da linha Marambaia x Várzea das Moças, da Viação Rio Ouro, e outro da linha Engenho Pequeno x Alcântara (48A), da Viação Galo Branco, que acabou tombando. O motorista do veículo tombado, que estava sem passageiros, não se feriu.
De acordo com testemunhas, o incidente pode ter sido causado por problemas no funcionamento do semáforo no cruzamento. Um passageiro, que sofreu ferimentos leves no rosto, descreveu o momento do acidente: “Tudo aconteceu muito rápido. Só senti a freada e bati o rosto. É a primeira vez que passo por algo assim e espero que seja a última.”
Por volta das 10h, equipes com reboques chegaram ao local para remover o veículo.
