Capitão da PM morre após ser baleado durante operação em Pilares

Capitão da Polícia Militar, Rafael Galvão da Costa, de 41 anos, morreu na manhã desta quarta-feira (3) após ser baleado na cabeça durante uma operação no Morro do Urubu, em Pilares, na Zona Norte do Rio de Janeiro. O agente, que integrava o 3º BPM (Méier), foi atingido durante uma troca de tiros entre policiais e criminosos.

A operação visava combater traficantes do Comando Vermelho (CV) envolvidos em roubos de cargas e carros na região. Por volta das 9h, Galvão foi baleado na cabeça. Imediatamente socorrido por colegas, ele foi levado ao Hospital Municipal Salgado Filho, no Méier, mas não resistiu aos ferimentos.

Carreira e Reconhecimento
Rafael Galvão da Costa servia na Polícia Militar desde 2009. No final de maio deste ano, ele foi promovido a capitão por bravura, em reconhecimento à sua atuação em uma operação do 3º BPM (Méier) que resultou na prisão de 15 homens e apreensão de seis fuzis, frustrando a fuga de criminosos na Autoestrada Grajaú-Jacarepaguá, em março de 2023.

O capitão deixa esposa e dois filhos. Sua morte representa uma grande perda para a corporação e sua família, ressaltando os riscos enfrentados diariamente pelos agentes de segurança pública em suas operações.
