O Fluminense estreou na Copa do Mundo de Clubes da FIFA com um empate sem gols diante do Borussia Dortmund, nesta terça-feira (17), no MetLife Stadium, em Nova Jersey (EUA). Apesar da igualdade no placar, o Tricolor teve ampla superioridade durante os 90 minutos.

A equipe comandada por Renato Gaúcho criou as principais chances da partida, teve mais posse de bola e volume ofensivo, mas esbarrou nas boas defesas do goleiro Kobel e em finalizações desperdiçadas, como a oportunidade clara perdida por Everaldo, que saiu cara a cara com o gol e não conseguiu concluir.

A atuação do Fluminense foi consistente, com destaque para o apoio da torcida brasileira presente no estádio, que incentivou o time durante todo o confronto. Com o empate, o Tricolor soma um ponto diante do adversário considerado o mais forte do Grupo F.
