Governo do Estado e Prefeitura do Rio decretam ponto facultativo durante Corpus Christi

A administração estadual e a Prefeitura do Rio de Janeiro decretaram ponto facultativo em repartições públicas em razão da celebração de Corpus Christi. A decisão foi publicada no Diário Oficial do Estado e do Município nesta quarta-feira (11).

No âmbito municipal, o ponto facultativo será válido nos dias 19 e 20 de junho. Já nas repartições do Governo do Estado do Rio, o ponto facultativo foi decretado apenas para o dia 20 de junho. Estão excluídos da medida os serviços considerados essenciais e que não admitem paralisação. As secretarias de Saúde do município e do estado devem publicar resoluções específicas regulamentando o funcionamento das unidades de atendimento.

Feriado em outras capitais

Embora Corpus Christi conste como ponto facultativo no calendário nacional, cada município tem autonomia para definir se a data será considerada feriado. Em 2024, 18 capitais brasileiras adotaram a data como feriado municipal: Aracaju, Belém, Belo Horizonte, Boa Vista, Cuiabá, Curitiba, Fortaleza, Goiânia, Macapá, Maceió, Manaus, Natal, Porto Alegre, Salvador, São Paulo, Teresina, Vitória e Florianópolis.

Nas demais capitais — incluindo o Rio de Janeiro — o dia 19 de junho será ponto facultativo. Nesses locais, o funcionamento de repartições públicas e estabelecimentos comerciais dependerá da decisão dos gestores e empregadores.

Sobre Corpus Christi

Celebrado 60 dias após a Páscoa, Corpus Christi é uma data móvel do calendário litúrgico católico e marca a instituição da Eucaristia — um dos principais sacramentos da Igreja Católica. A celebração teve origem na Idade Média, a partir de visões atribuídas à freira agostiniana Juliana de Mont Cornillon (1193–1258). A data foi oficializada pelo Papa Urbano IV em 1264 e, desde então, é celebrada com missas, procissões e manifestações religiosas em diversos países de tradição cristã.
