Nos dias 04 e 05/07 o Teatro Popular Oscar Niemeyer, em Niterói, recebe o 14º Encontro Internacional de Capoeira Na Volta Que o Mundo Dá!!!, realizado pelo Centro Cultural Senzala de Capoeira. É considerado um dos maiores encontros de capoeira da Região Metropolitana e promete celebrar a cultura afro-brasileira com uma programação diversificada e envolvente, totalmente gratuita.
As festividades terão início na sexta-feira, 04/07 às 19h, nas Barcas de Niterói, com uma Aula de Maculelê e Roda de Abertura. E no sábado, 05/07, será das 8h às 13h, no Teatro Popular Oscar Niemeyer, com Oficina de Capoeira, Roda, Batizado e Troca de Cordas. Também estão agendadas oficinas ministradas pelo Mestre Flutuante (um dos organizadores) Mestre Pelé (que vem diretamente da Itália) e a Mestra Renatinha.
Somando ao caráter internacional e nacional do evento, o encontro contará com a presença de diversos capoeiristas e professores de capoeira de diferentes países, incluindo Portugal, Áustria, Inglaterra e outras nações, além de representantes de outros estados brasileiros como Minas Gerais e São Paulo, fomentando um intercâmbio global e nacional de técnicas, filosofias e compreensão cultural dentro da comunidade da capoeira.
Junto com Mestre Flutuante (Ronaldo Farias), a Professora Karoll (Karoll Maia) também é responsável pela realização do evento. A dupla é especialista em trabalhar a capoeira e a acessibilidade, inclusive no Instituto Gingas (referência no assunto em cidades como Niterói, Saquarema e Cachoeiras de Macacu).
A classificação etária é livre, a entrada é gratuita, o encontro é patrocinado pela Secretaria das Culturas de Niterói e o Teatro Popular Oscar Niemeyer fica na R. Jorn. Rogério Coelho Neto, s/n, no Centro da cidade.
