O Grupo de Atuação Especializada de Combate ao Crime Organizado do Ministério Público do Estado do Rio de Janeiro (GAECO/MPRJ) e a Polícia Civil, pela Delegacia de Roubos e Furtos (DRF), cumprem, nesta quinta-feira (21/11), 16 mandados de busca e apreensão contra 11 integrantes de uma organização criminosa voltada para a prática de fraudes bancárias. De acordo com o GAECO/MPRJ, os investigados causaram prejuízo superior a R$ 40 milhões ao Banco do Brasil.
Os alvos da operação Chave Mestra são investigados em inquérito que apura os crimes de organização criminosa e invasão de dispositivo de informática. As investigações tiveram início a partir de informações apuradas pela Unidade de Segurança Institucional do Banco do Brasil.
A pedido do GAECO/MPRJ, o Juízo da 1ª Vara Criminal Especializada em Organização Criminosa da Capital expediu os mandados de busca e apreensão que estão sendo cumpridos em São Gonçalo, Taquara, Barra da Tijuca, Praça Seca, Magé, Recreio dos Bandeirantes, Pechincha, Cidade de Deus, Magalhães Bastos e Irajá. Aproximadamente 25 equipes policiais participam da operação.
As investigações revelaram que o grupo criminoso atua desde dezembro de 2023. Segundo a representação do GAECO/MPRJ à Justiça, os integrantes da organização criminosa utilizavam dispositivos eletrônicos como modens e roteadores clandestinos para acessar sistemas internos de agências bancárias e obter dados sigilosos de clientes, manipulando essas informações para cometer fraudes financeiras.
Ainda de acordo com o GAECO/MPRJ e com a DRF, em apenas oito meses, os investigados invadiram o sistema de segurança de agências do Banco do Brasil localizadas no Recreio dos Bandeirantes, Barra da Tijuca, Vila Isabel, Centro do Rio, além de unidades localizadas nos municípios de Niterói, Tanguá, Nilópolis e Duque de Caxias. A investigação também apontou que o grupo atuava de forma organizada, com divisão de tarefas específicas entre aliciadores, aliciados, instaladores, operadores financeiros e líderes.
