A Prefeitura de Itaboraí, por meio da Secretaria Municipal de Meio Ambiente e Urbanismo (SEMAU), realizou, na manhã desta quinta-feira (06/06), a distribuição de 500 mudas e sementes de várias espécies. A população foi contemplada em ação realizada na Praça Marechal Floriano Peixoto, no Centro, em alusão ao Dia Mundial do Meio Ambiente, celebrado na última quarta-feira (05/06) e a Semana do Meio Ambiente.
A ação, que contou com apoio do Grupamento Especial de Proteção Ambiental (GEPAM) da Guarda Municipal de Itaboraí, distribuiu diversas espécies de mudas, entre elas Goiaba, Pitanga, Aroeira, Ipê Amarelo, Trialis, Seringueira, Babosa Branca, Ipê Roxo e Sete Copas. Além de sementes de Urucum, Goiaba e Ipê Rosa.
O secretário municipal de Meio Ambiente e Urbanismo, Marcelo Matos, explicou a importância da ação para a população de Itaboraí.
“Nesta Semana do Meio Ambiente, realizamos diversas ações no município e, além do projeto de replantio no Parque Paleontológico, essa distribuição de mudas para a população serve como contribuição e conscientização para preservação do meio ambiente. A população gosta muito. Os moradores passam e pegam as mudas, pedem informações de plantio e isso é fundamental nessa luta pela preservação”, disse o secretário.
As mudas e sementes foram distribuídas através de doações feitas pelo projeto Replantando Vidas, da Companhia Estadual de Águas e Esgotos do Rio de Janeiro (CEDAE) e, também, do S.O.S Vidas Silvestres. Além disso, a ação contou com a presença do ‘Parceirinho’, personagem do Grupamento Especial de Proteção Ambiental (GEPAM), que fez a alegria de quem passava pelo local.

Esperança, Daniele Costa, de 44 anos, garantiu mudas de Ypê Amarelo e Pitanga, e também expressou gratidão pela ação realizada pela Prefeitura de Itaboraí.
“Gosto muito de plantar, porque ajuda a natureza, preserva o meio ambiente para a gente poder sobreviver bem e respirar ar puro. muita gratidão por esse ato da Prefeitura”, finalizou a cuidadora de idosos.
