O governo do Estado do Rio de Janeiro confirmou a realização de um novo concurso público para a Polícia Militar em 2026. A previsão é de que o edital seja publicado no primeiro semestre do próximo ano.
A informação foi divulgada pela Secretaria de Estado da Polícia Militar, que já iniciou os preparativos internos para o certame. Ainda não há detalhes sobre o número de vagas, mas a expectativa é de que o concurso contemple cargos para soldados.
O último concurso para a corporação foi lançado em 2021 e ofereceu 2 mil vagas para o cargo de soldado, com exigência de nível médio. O novo processo seletivo deve seguir os mesmos moldes, incluindo as etapas de prova objetiva, exame físico, avaliação médica e investigação social.
A realização de novos concursos é considerada essencial para a recomposição dos quadros da PM, que enfrenta déficit de efetivo em diversas regiões do estado. A previsão do governo é fortalecer o patrulhamento ostensivo e melhorar a segurança pública com a chegada de novos policiais às ruas.
