São Gonçalo: Capitão Nelson é reeleito com ampla margem de votos

O atual prefeito de São Gonçalo, Capitão Nelson (PL), foi reeleito neste domingo (6) com expressiva votação, obtendo 84,49% dos votos válidos, o equivalente a 387.914 eleitores. Na disputa pela prefeitura da cidade da Região Metropolitana do Rio, o segundo colocado, Dimas Gadelha (PT), ficou bem atrás, com 10,55% dos votos (48.457). O Professor Josemar (PSOL) ficou em terceiro, com 3,14% (14.397).

Capitão Nelson, ex-policial militar, já ocupou outros cargos políticos antes de chegar à prefeitura. Ele foi vereador em São Gonçalo e, em 2018, assumiu uma cadeira na Assembleia Legislativa do Estado do Rio de Janeiro (Alerj) como suplente de deputado estadual, após a prisão do titular Marcos Abrahão na Operação Furna da Onça. Com a soltura de Abrahão, Nelson retornou à Câmara Municipal e, em 2020, candidatou-se à prefeitura de São Gonçalo, vencendo no segundo turno pelo partido Avante.

A reeleição de Capitão Nelson reforça seu controle sobre a política gonçalense, sendo uma liderança de destaque na cidade. Sua gestão à frente de São Gonçalo foi aprovada por uma ampla maioria dos eleitores, refletindo sua capacidade de articulação e liderança na segunda maior cidade do estado do Rio de Janeiro.
