Em um evento que marcou o lançamento da pré-candidatura do PT à prefeitura de Maricá em 2024, o Deputado Federal Quaquá, também pré-candidato a prefeito, revelou seu plano de lançar Fabiano Horta, o atual prefeito, como candidato ao Governo do Rio em 2026.
“Renato, dizer pra você, que muita gente apostou em briga aqui. Quem apostou, seja de que lado estivesse, se deu mal! Aqui tem um grupo onde eu, o João, vamos disputar uma pré-candidatura para voltar pra cá e Fabiano será lançado em novembro o nosso candidato majoritário a governador pelo PT.” Disse Quaquá, sublinhando a importância da coesão do grupo político que governa Maricá desde 2009.
“A maior lição que nós podemos dar é a de que nós não vamos nos dividir, nós somos um grupo só, somos uma família só, a família de Maricá que vai ser exemplo pro Brasil e pro mundo.” Declarou Quaquá, enfatizando a necessidade de formar alianças com todos os partidos, tanto em Maricá quanto no cenário federal.
Em dezembro, Horta concluirá seu segundo mandato como prefeito de Maricá, após oito anos de gestão. Durante seu tempo no cargo, ele ampliou programas sociais como o Renda Básica de Cidadania (Bolsa Mumbuca) e o Tarifa Zero, além de implementar novos programas significativos como o Passaporte Universitário e o PPT (Programa de Proteção do Trabalhador).
O evento contou com a presença de figuras importantes da política fluminense, incluindo lideranças de diversos espectros políticos. Quaquá tem mantido diálogo com representantes de várias correntes, fortalecendo sua base de apoio.
